About the Role
The Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System is seeking a full-time pain management physician in the Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care Service with specific duties to provide inpatient and outpatient pain care. This position is necessary to provide specialized acute pain care for surgical and non-surgical inpatients on an Acute Pain Service and comprehensive outpatient pain management in a multidisciplinary and interventional pain clinic.
What You'll Do
- →Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System seeks a pain management physician to join an expanding clinical practice.
- →The position also requires experience supervising/teaching residents, fellows and medical students; and training/credentials sufficient to support eligibility for an academic appointment with the University of Michigan.
- →The pain management clinic serves as a training site for pain fellows from the University of Michigan ACGME-accredited Pain Fellowship.
- →The successful candidate will perform acute pain care for patients undergoing surgical and non-surgical inpatient care and comprehensive pain management care in an outpatient multidisciplinary and interventional pain clinic.
- →Physician meets continuing medical education requirements, participates in activities to improve patient-related outcomes and efficiencies including regular participation in morbidity and mortality conferences, staff meetings, and resident mock oral examinations.
- →Work week is Monday through Friday with evening, night, weekend and holiday call.
- →Travel to Community Based Outpatient Clinics maybe required.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
