About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at Naval Base Health Clinic Kings Bay. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a Physician to provide Occupational Medicine services to employees in various occupations, of various ages, and with various health issues.
- →Independently perform occupational physical examinations of various types including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations that may be required.
- →Provide comprehensive work-related care to employees, taking into account factors such as new and emerging procedures and techniques and the individual’s medical and occupational history, as well as information gained through diagnostic tests.
- →Counsels employees on workplace hazards and exam results.
- →Notifies management of exam results and recommends appropriate work restrictions and accommodations.
- →Serves as member of the professional medical staff and provides advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and boards.
- →Develops and oversees medical surveillance and medical qualification programs.
