About the Role
About the Position: Serve as a Physician (Occupational Medicine), located in Directorate of Clinical Support Occupational Medicine Branch at Naval Health Clinic Charleston in Charleston, SC. Hours are Monday-Friday between the hours of 6:30 AM- 4:00 PM. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Perform occupational physical examinations of various types including pre-placement, medical surveillance, medical qualification, disability retirement, fitness for duty, and any other special employee examinations that may be required.
- →Coordinates with facility and community resources to provide comprehensive work-related care to employees.
- →Notify management of exam results and recommends appropriate work restrictions/accommodations.
- →Interpret ancillary test results for evidence of possible occupational disease or confounding personal health conditions.
- →Diagnoses and appropriately consults for follow-up evaluations for conditions discovered as a result of the occupational medical examinations.
- →Evaluates and treats on-the-job illnesses and injuries and stabilizes and transfers those suffering from urgent or potentially life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
- →Assists in self-care transfer activities.
- →Conducts periodic worksite visits.
- →Develops and oversees medical surveillance and medical qualification programs.
- →Serves as member of the professional medical staff and provides advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and boards.
