About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

- →The Section Chief for Neurology shall actively develop and review patient satisfaction, practice efficiency, troubleshoot clinical issues, participate in meetings with other services administrative staff, perform needs assessments of clinical areas and have team meetings when indicated.
- →The Section Chief for Neurology directs, manages, and coordinates the planning and implementation of VA Neurology care throughout the Overton Brooks VAMC catchment areas.
- →Administrative duties will be approximately 20% of mapped time.
- →Maintains clinical duties in neurology service, which may include general neurology clinics, consults, procedures, or inpatient care.
- →Exercises administrative, programmatic, clinical, and academic oversight of Neurology Care Service and programs to ensure delivery of quality services.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
