About the Role
JOIN OUR TEAM! The Physician will manage patients with ongoing hematological/oncological medical conditions, in collaboration with other services/sections of the Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FxHCC) The provider is accountable to the FxHCC Medicine Section Chief, assuring the most effective delivery of care. Duties and responsibilities are carried out throughout all clinical and other Veteran care areas involved with the FxHCC Hematology/Oncology Section.
What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

- →Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collectes results to coordinate patient care.
- →Communicates and documents with clarity to patients and medical personnel to coordinate patient care.
- →Supervision of Physicians including annual proficiency rating and determination of pay for performance.
- →Monitoring of clinical competence of staff through FPPE and OPPE completion.
- →Participate in the educational programs for the section personnel as well as the medical staff.
- →Participate in monitoring the quality safety and appropriateness of patient care both at the section and facility level.
- →Miscellaneous activities of the FxHCC Medicine Section inclusive but not limited to special projects that enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the FxHCC Medicine Section Chief FxHCC Director of Clinical Services and Executive Leadership.
- →Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization.
- →Other duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Full Time; Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Requirements

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
