Physician - Gynecologic Surgeon

About the Role
The Physician - Gynecologic Surgeon functions within an interdisciplinary staff consisting of physicians, physician extenders, technicians, administrative and clerical staff ultimately accountable to the Chief of Surgery. He/she is responsible and accountable for ensuring the provision of comprehensive surgical/clinical services, resident supervision (if applicable) and complies with established policies within the Department of Surgery/Gynecology section.

- →Perform the full range of gynecologic surgical procedures (laparoscopy, robotic and hysteroscopy) and in-office gynecologic procedures including LARC, vulvar and endometrial biopsy, colposcopy, LEEP, pessary fittings and hysteroscopy.
- →Be willing to care for the unique needs of our female veterans which includes special training in PTSD and MST (military sexual trauma).
- →Physician will have assigned OR block time and scheduled clinic times.
- →Ensuring the timely completion of medical record documentation.
- →Completing annual TMS training.
- →Proper clinical management including indirect/direct patient care: open encounter and open consult maintenance, CPRS documentation requirements, and monitoring of clinic management.
- →Maintains involvement in matters concerning clinic productivity, relevant performance measures, quality and patient safety oversight, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
