About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at Wilford Hall, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. This is an open continuous announcement. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as the Primary Care Optimization (PCO) team leader providing comprehensive outpatient care for over 1,500 TRICARE Prime enrolled beneficiaries as well as TRICARE for Life and space available beneficiaries ranging from newborn to geriatric age.
- →Provide Pre-and Post Deployment health assessments as well as Preventive Health Assessments (PHA).
- →Address, manage and document medical issues pertaining to the Personnel Reliability Program, Security Clearances, Overseas Clearances, Pre-Confinement evaluations, Line of Duty Determination, and Occupational and fitness for duty medical evaluations.
- →Perform ambulatory surgical procedures including but not limited to: casting/splinting, suturing, excisional skin biopsies, vasectomies, and flexible sigmoidoscopies.
- →Order and interpret diagnostic and testing procedures to include laboratory and radiological examinations.
- →Provide advice by telephone and/or in person to other physicians, non-physician providers, and nursing and para-professional staff on the care of patients with urgent, emergent, and non-urgent medical problems.
- →Guide, counsel, and supervise PCMH team personnel to include physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical technicians, and administrative personnel.
- →Serve as member of the professional medical staff and complies with hospital plans and policies to meet accrediting agencies' (AAAHC or TJC) requirements.
- →Participate in local disaster training exercises as directed by the Chief of the Medical Staff (SGH) or MTF Commander; responds to real-world disaster situations.
