About the Role
The Medical Director for HBPC is the senior clinician and is responsible for the overall medical care delivered by the HBPC team. ***This position is eligible for a Recruitment/Relocation Incentives along with the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), and the Physician Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP). ***See benefits section below for more information. What You'll Do
- →The Medical Director for the Home-Based Primary Care Program (HBPC) is a Physician with skills and experience in providing Primary Care to Veterans in their home and experience interest in Geriatrics and Palliative/Hospice care, who is responsible for the overall medical care delivered by the HBPC team.
- →This position is approximately 40% administrative and 60% clinical.
- →The clinical work will be divided between in-home care for Veterans enrolled in the HBPC program and support to the Long Term Care Unit coverage.
- →This position will have an assigned panel of patients/Veterans from within the Tomah HBPC program.
- →In addition to providing primary health care, the physician serves as a consultant to nursing, and medical staff, and interdisciplinary team members in providing quality care.
- →The physician serves on medical center, VISN and/or national committees as appropriate, and assists in the development, evaluation, and communication of policies and standards to all healthcare disciplines.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.

- ★Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
