About the Role
Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician/Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years). What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
- →VHA Physician Total Rewards.
- →The Chief of Staff is attuned to the delivery of service throughout the medical center and assesses trends in treatment provided. 2.
- →Make decisions regarding resolutions of difficult problems when required, with appropriate input from other key staff members. 3.
- →Oversee the development of service level policies to provide staff accurate, current procedural information, instructions, guidelines and resources. 4.
- →Enforces, revises, and oversees the legal aspects of the Medical Staff Bylaws. 5.
- →Participates in Executive Resource Council to identify and determine strategic utilization of resources for the healthcare system including reviewing and advising on number of staff, equipment, contracts, budget and other resource allocations as appropriate. 6.
- →Participate in recruiting qualified clinical staff. 7.
- →Chairs compensation panels and professional standard boards. 8.
- →Oversee the Credentialing and Privileging process for clinical staff. 9.
- →Supervision and consultation for Clinical Service Chiefs, Program Managers, and other associated services within the COS Service Lines. 10.
- →Oversee the professional practice functions of assigned staff. 11.
- →Develops performance standards, pay for performance for physicians, and outlines Executive Career Field plans for reporting staff. 12.
- →Completes performance appraisals and proficiencies. 13.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation/examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
