Physician - Chief of Primary Care

About the Role
The Chief of Primary Care is responsible for the clinical operations and administrative functions of the outpatient primary care provided at Phoenix VA Medical Center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The Chief is responsible for participation in appropriate performance improvement activities and advancing the principles of advanced clinic access, PACT, Integration of Mental Health and Primary Care.
What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

- →Major duties include, but not limited to: Responsible for meeting all clinical performance measures and monitors relating to the Primary Care such as: Access, PACT metrics, EPRP, SAIL, customer satisfaction, and assisting the medical center when possible in meeting all others.
- →Improve service line efficiency by reducing cancellations, improving timeliness, reducing overtime.
- →Expand outpatient care by: expanding evening and weekend clinical services, achieving timely patient evaluation by assuring new and established patients are seen within established timeframes, achieving optimal resource (space, professional and administrative staff) utilization to maximize service utilization.
- →Collaborating with Medical Center leadership in identifying strategic opportunities and initiatives.
- →Participating in leadership meetings including CEB/MEB, Primary Care Operations, and others as determined.
- →Serving on medical center, VISN and VA national committees and workgroups related to Primary Care issues and initiatives.
- →Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
