Physician - Chief of Medicine

About the Role
The primary role is to manage and plan how services are delivered and contribute to the process of strategic planning, influencing and responding to organizational priorities. Working with the Executive Team, appropriate Service level chiefs, Associate Chiefs of Staff and program coordinators. This position directly reports to the Chief of Staff and will provide direct supervision for approximately 63 FTEEs, with a mix of clinical and administrative employees.

- →Develop and implement measures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the designated areas of responsibility.
- →Develop and execute a Medicine Service Business Plan for the Chief of Staff of the medical center.
- →Develop annual budgetary reports based on quality activity and financial information and projections.
- →Be accountable for resources used, directly and indirectly, by the Chief of Medicine.
- →Promote and develop measures to enable the Director to monitor Medicine Service staff individual performance and to assess clinical outcomes; and addressing performance issues at Director, Team and individual level.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
