What You'll Do
- →https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpaTtyybXFQ Duties: Administrative 80% Clinical 20% The Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) Ambulatory Care Service is both a supervisor as well as direct patient care provider responsible for carrying out operations of the Ambulatory Care Service.
- →The ACOS Ambulatory Care Service is accountable to and reports directly to the Chief of Staff (COS).
- →The incumbent is responsible for maintaining professional, technical, and administrative knowledge, competencies, and skill to deliver effective, timely and high-quality medical care to patients at the MTVAHCS.
- →The ACOS Ambulatory Care Service will supervise the other physicians and mid-level providers in the Service as well as work as a provider at the Fort Harrison clinic site.
- →The incumbent is responsible for the direct management and oversight of clinical and administrative operations within the Ambulatory Care Service.
- →The incumbent is expected to actively participate in quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with rules and regulations of the agency, facility, and department. - Demonstrate ability to appoint and/or build interdisciplinary team members with complimentary skills for maximum team effort/success.
- →Supervises and evaluates the performance of Physicians, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, and Physician assistants who are assigned to the Ambulatory Care Service.
- →Coaches staff in team building.
- →Contributes to staff growth and development of effective teams and individuals in the team. - Ensure physician staffing requirements for coverage of the Ambulatory Care Service are met. - Ensure that providers possess the necessary skills appropriate to patient care in an outpatient primary care setting.
- →Research problems that impact the quality-of-care delivery.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
