About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks is currently recruiting for a certified Physician Assistant to work in the Urology Section our Surgical Service.
- →This mid-level provider will perform history & physical exams, will order/interpret diagnostic tests, (e.g.
- →UA, bladder scan), develop treatment plans, schedule additional follow-up, initiate referral consults (internal and external).
- →Performs minor procedures (e.g. foley insert/change/irrigation, dilation, wound care) in clinical setting and inpatient setting.
- →Prescribes medications within defined scope of practice.
- →Conducts patient education/counseling (e.g. disease process, recommended therapy/procedure, adverse effects of therapy, expected outcomes, pre-op instruction, foley/wound care); conducts patient consultation in the absence of a Urologist; completes necessary documentation in electronic medical records (e.g. progress note, consult, discharge summary).
- →The Physician Assistant participates in a shared rotation of night and weekend On-Call coverage.
- →Performs other directly related duties as assigned.

- →Duties will include but are not limited to: Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.
- →Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.-Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.
- →Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.
- →Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- →Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.
