About the Role
About the Position: This position is with Evans Army Community Hospital, Directorate of Surgery, Orthopedic Service at Fort Carson, CO 80913. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
What You'll Do
- →Assess, plan, evaluate and modify the plan of acute and chronically ill patients.
- →Collect a detailed and comprehensive medical history from the patient to perform clinical evaluations and provide recommendations.
- →Examine adult patients and perform initial patient work-up and assessment of patients' care and treatment.
- →Determine the need for and order laboratory tests, X-rays and other procedures necessary to complete assessment of the patient.
- →Write prescriptions, order the administration of medications, dispense medication and prescribe controlled substances in accordance with scope of practice for Physician Assistants.
- →Perform physical examinations such as military schools, employment, sports, annual, retirement, discharge, reenlistment, disability separation or retirement, and other special physicals.
- →Provide consultation, teaching and coordination with patients regarding treatment and medical care.
- →Provide counseling to patients for prevention of illness and maintenance of health to assist patients in attaining physical, mental, and social well-being.
