About the Role
Physician Assistant MOD provides essential services to veterans and the FNCVAH facility. MOD coordinates transfers in and out of the facility including inpatient units and emergency room. MOD also coordinates bed assignments in the facility from outside hospitals and in the facility. Further MOD acts as signer for all orders for veterans discharging from outside hospital to include PT/OT/DME orders.

- →Obligations/Responsibilities: Attends required staff meetings, communicates up and down the chain of command, and helps prepare heads-up and issue briefs related to adverse patient outcomes. ii.
- →Clinical Management: Maintains involvement in matters concerning patient movement tracking, clinical productivity, relevant performance measures, Quality and Patient Safety oversight, as well as process improvements (system redesigns). 2.
- →Clinical Duties: 85-100% The incumbent is expected to remain privileged and practicing in medical services.
- →The exact privileges and procedures for a particular provider will be approved by the Professional Standards Board.
- →All practitioners must meet the followingqualifications: i.
- →Patient Care: The incumbent actively engages in communication with other facilities regarding the potential to transfer patients to and/or from our facility.
- →Actively participates in the management, clinical assessment, and order writing for patients being considered for movement to and/or from our facility and works with the Clinical Operations Center (COC) Chief, Clinical Operations Center (COC) Coordinator, Intermediate Care Technician (ICT) to ensure safe and appropriate patient movement between facilities.
- →Practitioners are expected to provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life.
- →Tasks also include indirect patient care: open encounters and open consult maintenance, CPRS documentation requirements, and monitoring of clinic management. ii.
- →Medical/Clinical Knowledge: Practitioners are expected to demonstrate knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical and social sciences, and the application of their knowledge to patient care and the education of others. iii.
- →Clinical Judgment: To ensure practice-based learning and improvement, practitioners are expected to be able to use scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care. iv.
- →Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Practitioners are expected to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. v.
