This position is located in Office of Chief Human Capital Officer, Division of Facilities & Security, Security Management and Operations Branch. The supervisor is Denis Brady. This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements. This position is not subject to security ownership restriction reporting requirements.
What You'll Do
- →The successful candidate will perform the full range of Physical Security Specialist duties.
- →Such duties include but are not limited to: Reviews and evaluates facility security plans for adequacy, disapproving those that fail to adhere to NRC Security Program requirements.
- →Coordinates and conducts comprehensive facility security surveys (initial, special, periodic and (termination) to determine adequacy of procedures, security measures and systems in effect.
- →Provides day-to-day personal and telephonic advice and assistance on intricate and varied facilities security matters to NRC personnel, contractors, licensees and others, in order to assure their implementation of NRC facilities security policies in an efficient and effective manner.
- →Monitors the direction of and provides guidance as needed for NRC's special requirements to protect personnel (and local law enforcement personnel, when appropriate) to support special meetings and hearings (e.g., ASLBP, public meetings) at various nation-wide locations; and assures reimbursement for work, contract compliance and preparation of related budget projections.
- →Prepares and develops facilities security policies, standards and procedures for NRC's security program with a major objective of safeguarding National Security Information, Restricted Data, and sensitive unclassified information.
- →These policies, standards and procedures apply to NRC Headquarters and Regional Offices, NRC contractors, NRC licensees and others affected by U.S. national policies and regulations developed by DFS.
- →Maintains cognizance of new statutes, Executive Orders, directives and Presidential decisions that impact or may impact on the NRC Facilities Security Program.
- →Analyzes and evaluates the impact on the NRC Security Program and operations and prepares appropriate revisions to NRC facilities security directives and other security publications.
- →Staffs facilities security directives and interprets and explains impact for other NRC program offices
