You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN in the FUELS DEPARTMENT, OPERATIONS DIVISION of NAVAL STATION. ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. What You'll Do
- →You will inspect and sample a variety of tanks, tank trucks, single product tankers, pipelines, barges and other media associated with the storage and transportation of petroleum products.
- →You will analyze test results and perform routine calculations while ensuring that fuel impurity levels are within safety limitations.
- →You will maintain records of fuel tests, independently interpret test results, and notify affected ship and/or activity and supervisors of any questionable findings.
- →You will calibrate and perform limited maintenance/repair on laboratory test equipment, provide quality control and inspection services for all products received, stored, issued, or transferred at the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Requirements
- ✓You may substitute the following education for specialized experience to meet the minimum qualifications: one full year of graduate education directly related to the position.
- ✓Transcripts must be submitted at time of application to support education claims.
