About the Role
About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, TX. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Receive and review prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs on the formulary.
- →Enter prescriptions into outpatient computer system reviewing profile for allergies, drug/drug or drug/food interactions, and duplicate orders.
- →Attend the dispensing window for pick up; provide instruction to patients on proper use of medications, referring questions requiring professional knowledge and experience to the registered pharmacist.
- →Perform all outpatient functions with minimal supervision by the registered pharmacist.
- →Determine type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy standard operating procedures.
