About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

- →Johnson Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is looking for two Pharmacy Supervisors in Ambulatory Care, one PACT and one Specialty.
- →These individuals are responsible for the professional and administrative management of clinical pharmacy services within the Ambulatory Care section.
- →This will include personnel, clinical pharmacy programs (including pharmacy student and resident training), scheduling, compliance with policies/procedures, and budgetary execution related to these areas.
- →Such individuals have responsibilities for supervising multiple pharmacists.
- →Manages people, maintains effective interdepartmental relations, and cooperates with other services to accomplish the medical facility's mission and goals.
- →Develops performance standards, assures that the program area is compliant with all regulatory and accrediting body requirements, designs and implements orientation and training programs for staff, and develops and maintains systems to monitor the performance of staff activities.
- →Develops policies and procedures relative to their assigned area.
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for the day-to day operations of the clinical pharmacy services within the Ambulatory Care Section.
- →Serve as Acting Associate Chief, Ambulatory Care Clinical Services or other pharmacy supervisors when requested.
- →Plan, organize, assign, and review work of subordinates; this includes scheduling of priorities and personnel for the effective completion of pharmacy programs objectives.
- →Conduct on-going and annual performance evaluation of subordinates (PACT pharmacists/ Specialty pharmacists).
- →Counsel employees on performance when necessary and/or recognize high level performance as appropriate.
- →Interview applicants for vacancies, determine their suitability for the position, and make recommendations to the Chief, Pharmacy Service.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
