About the Role
The Pharmacy Inventory & Procurement Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership,direction, coordination, clinical guidance, organization, planning, and implementation of pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management throughout all sites of care for the John D Dingell VA Medical Center and its affiliated Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

- →VA Careers - Pharmacy: https://youtube.com/embed/Fn_ickNBEws Duties: Responsible for the professional and administrative management of an assigned area in pharmacy service, to include budgetary execution.
- →Responsible for supervising multiple pharmacists and technicians.
- →Manage people, maintain effective interdepartmental relations, and cooperate with other services to accomplish the medical facility's mission and goals.
- →Develop performance standards, assure that the program area is compliant with all regulatory and accrediting body requirements, design and implement orientation and training programs for staff, and develop and maintain systems to monitor the performance of staff activities.
- →Develop policies and procedures relative to their assigned area Manage the B09 Reconciliation process.
- →Ensure procurement technicians are uploading signed invoices timely, screens discrepancies, coordinate corrective actions, and review monthly B09 memos prior to submission to the Chief of Pharmacy and Fiscal.
- →Serve as the primary pharmacy recall coordinator by developing and implementing action plans to manage drug recalls and coordinate out-of-date drug disposition.
- →Confirm receiving of pharmaceuticals complies with United States Pharmacopeia (USP) 800 and Hazardous Drug Handling requirements in a healthcare setting.
- →Freely and willingly provide necessary technical knowledge, training, and assistance as required to support pharmacy operations.
- →The incumbent is expected to willingly exchange ideas, assist and provide support as a team player with pharmacy staff, and actively seek and maintain face-to-face contact with other members of Pharmacy Service.
- →Complete performance evaluations, recommend awards, and initiate or support disciplinary actions; provide recommendations to the PCC Program Manager when appropriate.
- →Coordinate assigning medications to CMOP as determined by the formulary management group.
- →Review CMOP backorders and adjust local inventory as needed to meet patient needs.
- →Assist pharmacy service with the inventory management of selected high-cost noncontrolled drugs as directed by the VA Central Office (VACO).
