About the Role

You will serve as a Park Ranger with US Fish and Wildlife Service, Kauai National Wildlife Refuge Complex, located on the island of Kauai in the state of Hawaii. Cost of Living Allowance: In addition to the yearly salary, this position is entitled to a 8.64%cost-of-living allowance (COLA) https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/pay-systems/nonforeign-areas/#url=COLA-Rates

What You'll Do

  • As a Parker Ranger your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Develops and presents interpretive programs.
  • Compiles and submits collection, remittance, and reporting of recreation user entrance fees.
  • Assists with the management of wildlife-dependent recreation opportunities.
  • Assists with coordination and management of reservation program and commercial tour programs.
  • Prepares and conducts on and off-site environmental education programs for a variety of audiences.
  • Monitors visitor facilities for safety, cleanliness, and accessibility.
  • Assists with the implementation of a comprehensive public outreach program through written and oral communication.

Requirements

  • Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Direct Deposit participation required.

  • The tour of duty for this position is Tuesday-Saturday.
