About the Role
This position is a Park Ranger (I), GS- 0025-11 working in Nicodemus National Historic Site in Nicodemus, KS Nicodemus, Kansas This is a not-to-exceed one (1) year temporary promotion assignment. This temporary promotion may be extended without further competition; however, it may not exceed a total of five (5) years. This temporary promotion may be made permanent without further competition
What You'll Do
- →As a Park Ranger (I) your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Interpretive planning and long-range policy development.
- →The incumbent will develop, manage and execute a full interpretive planning process that produces a park-wide policy document guiding site interpretation for the next decade.
- →Coordination of anniversary commemoration.
- →The incumbent is the primary coordinator for the 150th anniversary of the establishment of Nicodemus, Kansas, responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating an annual series of commemorative events.
- →Interpretive media support and partner technical assistance.
- →This incumbent will routinely support media development and provide technical assistance to park partners and gateway communities.
- →Coordination with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including tribal partners, state agencies, community organizations, and other park partners.
Requirements
- ✓Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.

- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓You may be required to travel overnight away from home occasionally.
- ✓You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
