About the Role
About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Fort Meade, MD.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as a Paralegal Specialist in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, US Cyber Command, exercising discretion and independent judgment in the application of laws, regulations, precedents, and agency practices.
- →Perform comprehensive research of government policies, federal regulations, legal texts, case law, and state and federal statutes commensurate with the complexity of the problem or issue.
- →Prepare documentation related to complaints and termination.
- →Interpret and evaluate laws and precedents into opinions and make clear determinations of legal sufficiency and recommendations.
- →Prepare case files and correspondence for Labor Counselor review on cases involving review organizations.
- →Prepare comprehensive litigation reports and collect evidence in connection with lawsuits filed against the U.S.
- →Serve as the assistant to the Ethics Counselor; Research and write draft Ethics opinions on a wide variety of Administrative Law issues Determine the necessary legal, policy and administrative issues involved and the nature of the analysis and legal research required to come to a successful conclusion, and support recommendations in unusually complicated legal matters.
