What You'll Do
- →This Paralegal Specialist supports the Federal Major Crimes Section by delivering comprehensive legal and investigative assistance to Assistant United States Attorneys.
- →The specialist helps develop subpoenas, warrants, and other legal process, coordinates closely with law enforcement partners, and provides vital support in cases involving fraud, firearms offenses, drug crimes, robberies, threats, immigration matters, child exploitation, and human trafficking.
- →If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Paralegal Specialist support in the U.S.
- →Attorney's Office, District of Columbia, located in Washington, District of Columbia, focusing in the areas of legal research and analytical support, discovery and case documentation management, and grand jury and courtroom litigation support.
- →Typical work assignments will include: Providing direct paralegal support to attorneys on sensitive criminal matters, ensuring effective case preparation and workflow.
- →Conducting complex legal research and analysis, summarizing statutes, case law, and precedents relevant to assigned investigations or prosecutions.
- →Preparing, organizing, indexing, and maintaining discovery materials and assisting with drafting legal processes such as subpoenas, search warrants, and non-disclosure orders.
- →Delivering courtroom support by preparing and presenting trial exhibits, including charts, diagrams, photos, and other visual evidence.
- →Assisting attorneys during investigations and trial preparation through interviews with agents and witnesses, and performs other related duties as assigned.
- →Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements
