The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM) provide the infrastructure and support that enables the U.S. Department of Labor to perform its mission. OASAM provides leadership and support for information technology, human resources management, procurement, business operations, safety and health, space management, civil rights, emergency management, security, budget, and performance.
What You'll Do
- →The incumbent of this position will serve as an Operations Specialist.
- →In this position, the incumbent will actively participate in and contribute to the overall Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM) operations acting as a liaison and consultant between the various centers within OASAM and OASAM leadership.
- →The specific areas of expertise vary and will be reflected in the performance plan on the individuals appointed to the position.
- →The following are major duties of the GS-0301-12 Operations Specialist.
- →This is not an all inclusive list and other duties may be assigned.
- →Perform and oversee special studies, projects, and processes related to the management and evaluation of OASAM; gathering, tracking, and analyzing data, while identifying issues or problems.
- →Serve as a consultant to executive managers, supervisors, and project leaders on the development and/or execution of major operational areas and programs and provide strategic guidance throughout each project.
- →Coordinate multiple projects and reconcile the interdependencies among them.
- →Collaborate with OASAM centers and regional offices to facilitate communication across OASAM and identify ways to resolve conflicting priorities.
- →Conduct the strategic planning and performance management activities necessary to support OASAM's strategic objectives.
- →Represent OASAM leadership, serving as a member or leader on project teams that are assembled to execute the administration's initiatives.
- →Sustain constant familiarity with, and awareness of emerging research, legislative, and policy developments to develop the most up-to-date and informed research products.
Requirements
- ✓There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 level.
