About the Position: The incumbent works in the J332 Current Operations Branch of the J33 Current Operations Division within the J3 Operations Directorate of AFRICOM. The J332 Current Operations Branch supports the J3 Operations by monitoring, tracking and conducting near term coordination and orders production for ongoing current operations, exercises and activities such as security cooperation and engagements in Africa as assigned by the branch or division leadership.
What You'll Do
- →Participate in operational planning teams and crisis action teams to develop courses of action for command engagement within an Area of Responsibility.
- →Coordinate with directorates, components, and sub-unified commands regarding plans and orders for the employment of assets.
- →Maintain awareness and understanding of situation reports (SITREPS), ongoing operations, exercises, and force laydown to brief commanders and leadership regarding current operational picture and options for future asset employment.
- →Develop subject matter experience through coordination with other directorates, subordinate commands, interagency partners and international partners on planning, crisis action, and steady state activities.
- →Apply broad knowledge of operational and crises response planning and operational scheduling procedures and assist in the accomplishment of tasks and objectives to support emergent and ongoing operations for USAFRICOM.
