This position resides within the Secretariat for Special Operations (SSO), Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict (OASW(SO/LIC)). Under 10 U.S.C. §§ 138 and 167, the ASW(SO/LIC) is the principal civilian advisor to the Secretary of War for special operations and oversees SOF readiness, resources, equipment, and civilian personnel.
What You'll Do
- →Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Conducts operations research, systems analysis, and quantitative studies to evaluate programs, initiatives, and resource requirements.
- →Analyzes organizational performance, budget execution, and program data to identify trends, assess impacts, and develop recommendations.
- →Supports planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) activities through research, modeling, and analytical assessments.
- →Develops reports, briefings, presentations, and decision-support products for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- →Collaborates with internal and external organizations to collect data, assess alternatives, and support strategic planning and resource allocation efforts.
