About the Role
The Hospitality NA/Orderly transports patients throughout the medical center at the direction of clinical staff under the supervision of the Nurse on Duty (NOD). The NA assists Veterans with activities of daily living and other needs that arise. **Recruitment/Relocation incentive may be offered**
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but not limited to:The NA is responsible for the storage, proper cleaning techniques, and use of reusable medical equipment (RME).
- →He/she must be able to locate the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all RME in the clinical area.
- →She/he is responsible for carrying out proper procedures for caring for patients in an isolation environment by following proper infection control procedures.The NA is responsible for the following duties: To accurately identify and report physical signs, symptoms, and changes to RN/supervisor in charge.
- →Takes patient's vital signs, recognizes obvious discrepancies and report discrepancies to RN/supervisor in charge.
- →Completes blood glucose monitoring as assigned.
- →Completes activities that contribute to meeting all applicable performance measures.
- →Utilizes technical skills appropriately adjusting techniques for patients.
- →Initiates emergency procedures for which the employee is trained and reports actual and potential safety hazards within the workplace.
- →Follows all safety procedures and wear protective clothing as appropriate.
- →Identifies the need for and actively contributes information and suggestions to patient centered conferences.
- →Fosters an environment of respect for individual patient and family rights to privacy and dignity in all aspects of care delivery.
- →Actively seeks out educational opportunities to enhance nursing knowledge and skills, sharing new knowledge gained with other staff to improve and advance nursing practice.
- →Uses Computerized Patient Record System per medical center policy; attends classes as needed to maintain currency in computerized record documentation.
- →Attends in-services on all new equipment and/or equipment that has changed or demonstrated a hazard.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
