About the Role
The NAs function as a member of the nursing care team and assist licensed nursing staff in the care of patients/residents receiving preventive, acute, sub acute chronic, maintenance, and hospice care. The distinguishing factor is that patient/ resident assignments typically involve more complex nursing needs which can vary within a range of predictable to unpredictable requirements.
What You'll Do
- →This is an Open Continuous Announcement until September 10th, 2026.
- →Qualified applicants will be considered and referred as vacancies become available.
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional All duties performed will be completed under close supervision with appropriate training and competencies for assigned task.
- →Utilizes glucose monitoring machine to obtain glucose readings for veterans and refers abnormal results to appropriate health care staff.
- →Provides direct care for complex veterans.
- →Perform phlebotomy to collect blood samples as ordered.
- →Collect stool and urine samples as ordered.
- →Perform point of care test urine pregnancy.
- →Perform electrocardiogram (EKG) for patients with chest pain and other indications as instructed by Registered Nurse (RN).
- →Perform inventory of belongings and continuous 1:1 observation for safety of mental health patients.
- →Makes observations of subtle changes in resident's condition, i.e. behavior shifts, mood, skin coloring, appetite, etc. and takes action accordingly within the NA 's assigned role.
- →Documents care given, observations and responses on appropriate tools or forms.
- →Responds appropriately to subtle patient changes by contacting the appropriate nursing personnel.
- →Administers complete tracheostomy care, including suctioning.
