About the Role
The Emergency Department Nursing Assistant position is assigned to the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Nashville, TN campus.
What You'll Do
- →Major Job Duties: Participates in implementing the healthcare plan by performing tasks delegated by and performed under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
- →Performs full range of nursing procedures utilizing appropriate and safe techniques.
- →Responsible for the reprocessing and cleaning of reusable medical equipment items on the assigned unit.
- →Provides appropriate verbal information and written facts as a part of a patient-driven holistic care plan for life.
- →Assures the appropriate/safe use of equipment and supplies.
- →Follows principles of infection control and safety for a wide range of conditions including implementation of standard precautions and identifying and reporting environmental safety hazards.
- →Recognizes urgent/emergent situations and follows guidelines and emergency preparedness plan.
- →Provides for activities of daily living of a group of patients.
- →Provides technical support to the unit staff.
- →Orients, coaches, and educates staff and students.
- →Provides monitoring for patients that require close and continuous observation using the AvaSure Telesitter technology.

- →Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- →When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Requirements
