About the Role

The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides clinical and administrative support in a wide variety of patient care and related activities within Nursing Service including, but not limited to, roles assigned to Emergency Department. The NA functions as a member of the nursing care team and assists licensed nursing staff in the care of patients/residents receiving preventive, acute, sub-acute chronic, maintenance, and hospice care.

What You'll Do

  • The NA functions as a member of the nursing care team and assists licensed nursing staff in the care of patients/residents receiving preventive, acute, sub-acute chronic, maintenance, and hospice care.
  • The NA is able to provide patient/resident care during day, evening, and night tours of duty.
  • This includes not only the delivery of personal care but also observing, reporting, and recording pertinent information relative to patient care in the electronic medical record.
  • He/She/they possess the ability to recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance.
  • The NA can recognize the need for basic life support, control bleeding and assist with behavior crisis, etc.
  • He/She/They perform and/or assist with diagnostic studies and performs treatments/procedures.
  • He/She/They is responsible to assist or teach patients regarding selected treatment procedures.
  • The NA works with maximal initiative and minimal supervision, demonstrates leadership to the nursing assistant staff, and teaches proper technique and procedure by example.
  • He/She/They promote maximal patient motivation, independence, and rehabilitation.
  • And provides patients with a sense of self-worth and dignity by fostering self-reliance.
  • The NA may perform duties in a variety of healthcare settings such as outpatient, inpatient, long-term care, hospice/palliative care, acute and sub-acute under close supervision.
  • The NA will care for patients/residents with acute to chronic conditions.
  • He/She/They must have demonstrated knowledge and ability to provide a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time (rotational) Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
