About the Role
The Marion VA Medical Community Living Center is seeking an RN. The Registered Nurse in this position provides health care services and care management to a variety of patients with varying degrees of medical problems from minimal to complex issues to include PICC LINE, IV, Foley Catheter, Naso and Gastro tube feeding etc. and in a variety of Care Specialties REHAB, Long Term Care and Hospice
What You'll Do
- →The RN is accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements of assigned grade.
- →Our facility is seeking an individual who possess good organizational skills which enable completion of work, demonstrated ability to assume non-supervisory leadership roles (Charge Nurse or Med Team Leader) in a patient centered program and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.
- →He/she assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care needs assuring quality of care.
- →Provides professional nursing care that includes, but is not limited to: Care Management.
- →Patient Assessments.
- →Participation in interdisciplinary team process.
- →Performing skilled nursing tasks (i.e., blood draws, injections, dressing changes and wound care).
- →Completes and submits clinical notes.
- →Observes patient for changes in conditions and reports appropriately.
- →Provides education instructions to patients and their designated significant other.
- →Performs other professional nursing duties as assigned and within their scope of practice. ???????This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as this is a 24/7 hospital.
- →The incumbent may be required to rotate tours and duties during low/high census or complete administrative tasks established by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
