About the Role
About the Position: The primary purpose of the position is to serve as a Med-Surg Nurse in the Ambulatory Surgery Department. The incumbent utilizes the nursing process in assessing, diagnosing, treating, and evaluating perceived, actual or potential physical or psychosocial problems that may result from the intrusion of surgical procedures or anesthetic agents. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Provides highly specialized and comprehensive nursing care to a wide variety of patients Provides comprehensive preoperative education, initiates nursing data base, identifies problems, initiates appropriate consults (discharge planning, dietary, etc.), and coordinates preoperative arrival time utilizing the operative schedule.
- →Functions as shift charge nurse, primary nurse, or team leader.
- →Responsible for direct patient care and supervision/instruction of assigned civilian and military professional and paraprofessional staff.
- →Utilizes a broad knowledge of drugs and intravenous therapy, including properties, indications, dosages/rates, and side-effects.
- →Plans, directs and coordinates total patient care activities
