About the Role
The Durham VA Health System, has one (1) Full-time vacancy for a Registered Nurse-Operating Room Implant Coordinator. The RN will be fully qualified and certified to function in a clinical role and in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the Durham Veterans Affairs Health Care System.
What You'll Do
- →Relocation/Retention Incentives: Not Authorized.

- →The role of the Implant Coordinator involves managing the procurement, storage, and distribution of surgical implants.
- →Detailed knowledge of information processing functions of Surgery Service to provide data from various data bases for reporting purposes, reviews, and training.
- →Ability to communicate in a professional manner and possess appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively deal with individuals from various backgrounds, knowledge levels and cooperativeness levels. oral and writing communication skills for speaking in front of individuals and/or groups, writing policies, procedures, memoranda, and training materials.
- →Interpersonal skills are necessary to handle disputes between service/specialties/nursing staff and Prosthetic, Acquisition and other staff regarding surgical implant requests and requirements and initiating negotiable solutions must also be demonstrated.
- →Skill in explaining and organizing complex issues in writing concerning surgical implants is also required.
- →Knowledge of Implantable devices in regard to VISN6 directives and compliance guidelines, HCPS and ICD codes.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
