About the Role
The Nurse Manager of the Command Center position at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) is a full-time administrative position. The incumbent will have primary responsibility to manage and oversee the overall initial assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of bed placement for patient admissions and transfers within the VAPAHCS, external facilities, and the community.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: Nurse III Nurse Manager (NM) functions as the administrative and clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.
- →Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
- →Demonstrate sound decision-making and judgment and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Upon achievement of a State license, the individual may be appointed on temporary basis and later converted to a permanent appointment upon successful completion and graduation from the bridge program.
- ✓(Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6); OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing to warrant an appointment as a Nurse who has completed an associated degree/entry level Nursing education program.
