The Nurse Manager serves as the first-line supervisor responsible for the 24/7 management of assigned units and provides coverage for other Nurse Managers when needed. They oversee staff orientation, training,development, and performance evaluation. As a leader, role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor,they guide the team and collaborate with the interdisciplinary staff to improve care outcomes by addressing barriers and implementing innovative evidence-based programs and processes.
What You'll Do
- →The Nurse Manager (NM) functions as a clinical expert and is responsible for all aspects of the nursing process when providing or supervising patient care.
- →They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care based on age-specific needs.
- →They coordinate care with a focus on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction across the continuum of care.
- →By collaborating with the interdisciplinary team and developing innovative process improvement initiatives, they positively influence care outcomes.
- →The Nurse Manager will have oversite of ASC/ASU/Pre-anesthesia/PACU/PICC Team/Neuromodulation Clinic/Pain Management Clinic/Ketamine Clinic/and Interventional Radiology.
- →Duties include but not limited to the following: Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth.
- →Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels.
- →Equips staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- →Cultivates alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence.
- →Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
- →Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
- →Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution.
- →Promotes an inclusive workplace valuing diversity to achieve the organizations vision and mission.
- →Preferred Experience: Knowledge of ambulatory and inpatient procedural processes. 3-5 years Peri-Operative experience required.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
