About the Role
Functions as a Nurse Manager to supervise the Primary Care clinics at the Brooklyn campus and the Staten Island Community Based Outpatient Clinic and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.

- →DUTIES: This leadership role is accountable for the daily management/supervision and evaluation of the care provided by RN/LPN/HCT's in the Brooklyn's PACT/Specialty/Dermatology and the Staten Island Outpatient clinic.
- →Incumbent works hand in hand the with COS for Ambulatory Care.
- →Responsible for maintaining ACCESS to care efficiency and production of these clinical areas as well as ensuring daily operations are maintained.
- →The PCTC ensures that services are provided in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care across all disciplines.
- →Designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the 24/7 operation of their assigned units and provides coverage for other nurse managers as needed.
- →The nurse manager is responsible and accountable for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance.
- →Function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team.
- →Influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers and implement new evidence based cutting-edge programs/processes.
- →Engages in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth.
- →Adhere to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels.
- →Equip staff with tools for culturally competent care and promotes a culture of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- →Cultivate alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
