About the Role
About the Position: Provides highly specialized nursing care to complicated obstetrical patients and newborns who require complex maternal/fetal monitoring and close observation for subtle changes in condition. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Provide highly specialized nursing care to complicated and routine laboring, perioperative, and post anesthesia obstetrical patients and newborns.
- →Formulate complex plans to meet patient care needs and continually revise goals and objectives according to changes in maternal/fetal status.
- →Administer oxygen therapy and utilize intensive pulmonary care techniques.
- →Monitor sophisticated equipment used in the care of complicated obstetrical patients such as electronic fetal monitors, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, cardiac monitors, and EKG machines.
- →Administer a wide variety of rapid-acting, highly potent medications according to specialty policies, procedures, and protocols.
