About the Role
About the Position: This Nurse (Inpatient Clinical/OB-GYN) position is located at A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Provide a wide spectrum of obstetrical and labor care by obstetrical and gynecological specialty physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, obstetrical registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and administrative staff.
- →Assess the patients’ physical condition and progress through the labor and delivery process.
- →Assess fetal well-being by means of electronic fetal monitoring and other standard parameters.
- →Initiates parent/infant bonding by promoting a baby-friendly environment while assessing the needs of the patient and family.
- →Educate parents on proper newborn care, providing breastfeeding assistance, and monitoring the mother and baby's well-being while still in the hospital.
- →Administer intravenous fluids and medications.
- →Respond to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment as well as order diagnostic tests as needed.
- →Make decisions regarding priorities for patient care for shift assignments Assigns duties and delegates patient care to other nurses.
- →Develop nursing care plans and procedures.
