About the Role
About the Position: Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team, performing nursing care duties in a Psychiatric Unit. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
What You'll Do
- →Perform a comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and history to plan, provide and direct nursing care across the continuum of care.
- →Utilize appropriate interview skills to identify existing and potential problems and formulate a nursing plan of care.
- →Utilize and instruct others in the use of single and specialized equipment as appropriate to clinical area.
- →Develop and initiate an innovative teaching program for patients requiring special approaches.
- →Initiate emergency measures as appropriate.
- →Identify pending crisis situations and handle appropriately.
- →Administer many psychotropic and complex medications via the oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, topical, rectal, respiratory, intravenous routes.
- →Participate in group and milieu therapy as well as individual therapies.
- →Direct the work of Psychiatric Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered nurses, students and volunteers.
