About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital with the Directorate of Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing at Fort Carson, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
What You'll Do
- →Perform a comprehensive behavioral health nursing assessment.
- →Utilize appropriate interview skills to identify existing and potential problems and formulate a nursing plan of care.
- →Educate patient and family members regarding the disease process.
- →Communicate progress and/or changes to the patient, family and members of the health care team.
- →Make interdisciplinary referrals.
- →Administer many psychotropic and complex medications via the oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, topical, rectal, respiratory, intravenous routes.
- →Develop and initiate an innovative teaching program for patients requiring special approaches.
