About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at WOMACK ARMY MEDICAL CENTER Fort Liberty NC Serves as a registered nurse specialist in Inpatient Obstetrics and Maternal-Newborn providing specialized and comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum nursing care to normal to high-risk obstetric patients. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Advanced in hire may be authorized.
What You'll Do
- →Identify and interpret maternal and/or fetal distress and newborns in the absence of a physician and determine proper emergency intervention.
- →Assists physicians and anesthesia providers with complex procedures such as insertion of internal monitors, placement of epidural catheters.
- →Assist physicians and anesthesia providers with complex procedures, such as insertion of internal monitors, placement of epidural catheters, placement of invasive monitoring lines and induction of general anesthesia.
- →Administers complex medications by any route as ordered within the guidelines of nursing practice.
- →Identify difficult infant care problems, formulate complex plans to meet the care needs.
- →Maintains accurate and complete nursing records in electronic databases that reflect pertinent and factual observations of the infant's treatment and progress.
- →Maintains invasive lines and dressings in accordance with infection control policies and procedures.
