About the Role
About the Position: This position is located in a hospital setting, the applicant can expect to support the hospital and organizational initiatives related to breastfeeding promotion and education, Baby-Friendly practices, and maternal-child health standards. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Support hospital and organizational initiatives related to breastfeeding promotion, Baby-Friendly practices, and maternal-child health standards.
- →Monitor patient progress, evaluate effectiveness of interventions, and make referrals to appropriate providers or community resources when needed.
- →Provide lactation assessment, education, and support to pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding patients and families.
- →Participate in staff education and training to improve breastfeeding knowledge and support among clinical team members.
- →Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, speech therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and promote evidence-based lactation practices.
