About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in the Director for Surgery, Department of Orthopedics/Podiatry. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 0700-1630. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Conduct comprehensive musculoskeletal and neurovascular assessments.
- →Develop individualized care plans, and coordinate care with physicians for orthopedic and podiatric patients.
- →Assist with wound care, cast/splint removal, joint injections, and minor surgical procedures.
- →Provide education to patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication and post-operative care.
- →Maintain electronic health records.
- →Ensure adherence to infection control protocols within the clinic setting.
- →Schedule and coordinate patient’s surgical procedures and appointments.
- →Maintain oversight of patient referrals and logistics for surgical procedures and follow-on care.
