About the Role
You will serve as a NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
What You'll Do
- →Your will inspect completed installation of test equipment to assure the equipment will safely perform the intended function.
- →You will provide engineering advice and assistance to ships force personnel during reactor plant overhauls and testing.
- →You will perform functions of a Shift Test Supervisor to provide waterfront direction for the Shift Test Engineer on the shift assigned.
- →You will perform system lineup checks in conjunction with the ships force and report all major problems to higher graded engineer.
- →You will prepare technical written instructions for assembly and installation of equipment.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
