Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.

What You'll Do

  • The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer is directly responsible to the Unit Commander to manage the inspection preparation program for the wing/group.
  • Serves as the unit point of contact for the coordination and execution of the Unit's Readiness and Compliance Training Plans.
  • Responsible for integrating supporting exercise/events and readiness/compliance philosophies and initiatives into unit activities.
  • The organizational location of this position is: wing/group staff agency.
  • This position may be required to perform supervisory duties less than 25% of the time.
  • DUTIES: Manages the Unit's Major Event Cycle (MEC).
  • Ensures the unit has a long range planningstrategy to assemble resources for significant operational, readiness and compliance events.
  • Leads unit preparations for Readiness and Compliance Inspections.
  • Develops, plans andcontrols exercise scenarios to accurately assess wing readiness.
  • Leads/manages unit Exercise Evaluation Team (EET) efforts, supporting internal andexternal taskings.
  • Serves as unit EET Chief.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning,advanced technologies and support system concepts.
  • Regularly performs appropriate aircrew member duties in unit aircraft.
  • Performs duties as anadditional duty instructor/flight examiner as deemed appropriate.
