About the Role
You will serve as a Museum Curator (GS9) for the Beverley R. Robinson Collection of Historic Naval Prints inUS NAVAL ACADEMY MUSEUM.
What You'll Do
- →The successful selectee will perform the following duties: Provide assistance and direction to the museum collections including the acquisition and display of objects associated with significant events, important developments, and notable achievements of the Navy.
- →Identify, authenticate, and determine the appropriateness of items offered as gifts or loans and arrange for acceptance or tactful rejection of such offers.
- →Ensure the proper and respectful use of the collections and is responsible for the prevention of theft, damage, or deterioration.
- →Conduct research which encompasses the history, heritage, and operations of the United States Naval Academy.
- →Develop themes, scripts, labels and related scholarly material to support the creation and presentation of temporary and permanent exhibits.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Degree: museum work; or in an applicable subject-matter field.
- ✓OR Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓OR Four years of experience that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study as shown in A above.
