This position is within the Maintenance and Operations Section; Engineering Service at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, a tertiary care, university affiliated, active research, medical facility. The primary responsibility would be operating a valet shuttle, a gasoline or electric powered vehicle with a seating capacity of six (6) to fourteen (14) passengers.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Adheres to installation traffic rules and safe operating practices for moving vehicles.
- →Maneuvers vehicles through congested areas exercising caution when backing to load or unload at docks, ramps, or similar locations.
- →Recognizes developing maintenance problems when conducting an inspection of their vehicle, and report technical problems to the supervisor.
- →Operates shuttle bus, vans and shuttle carts.
- →Continual care and attention are required to avoid accidents.
- →Keeps shuttle carts clean, fueled and ready for use at all times.
- →Determines the manner and sequence of loading cargo to achieve load balance and adequate protection for fragile vehicles.
- →Checks vehicles for water, oil, gas, air pressure in tires and ascertains that all assigned vehicles are in proper operating condition.
- →Work Schedule: 9:30AM to 6:00PM, Monday thru Friday, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.

- ✓If an interview is requested, you may be required to provide a copy of your valid state-issued driver's license.
