About the Role

Incumbent will operate a 14.5 ton commercial Ambulatory Medical Mobile unit to various upstate/lower state CBOCs in support of care and treatment of patient requiring cardiovascular services. Incumbent will also alternate driving a chase vehicle transporting assigned cardiology clinical staff to and from the CBOCs. 5-10 Years experience preferred in driving commercial vehicles or similar with associated experience interacting with and transporting personnel in the healthcare clinical setting.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties and responsibilities include: Receiving daily assignment from Cardiology Leadership Arriving at and departing from pickup and transport staff and/or operate the mobile unit vehicle on a daily basis.
  • Reading installation maps, understand the navigation system and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest, and safest route of travel, and to select alternate routes when faced with unforeseeable hazards, or delays.
  • Perform routine driver maintenance, and daily vehicle inspections to assure the safety and road worthiness of the mobile unit.
  • Enforcing passenger safety and seatbelt use in chase vehicles.
  • Using multiple variations of Mobile Data Computer (MDC) in and out of the vehicles for assigned trips and duties daily.
  • Accurately complete and maintain travel logs, trip tickets, document unusual incidents, and prepare monthly activity reports.
  • Assistiing patients and medical supplies in an out of mobile unit, during clinic Performing operator maintenance such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles, and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation, while coordinating required maintenance of the vehicle with the EMS Services and the Fleets department.
  • Maintaining records and document actions, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports.
  • Possessing Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement is required for the position.
  • License must be a Class B, which allows operation of a commercial vehicle over 26,000 pounds.
  • Collaborate closely with the clinical team on a daily basis optimize needs of the clinics Keeps in close communication with cardiology leadership team on a daily basis.
  • Recognizes emergent and/or potentially emergent situations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • May be assigned to assist in travel services on occasion.
