About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.
What You'll Do
- →Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
- →Check work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisor’s instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
- →Work along with other workers, setting the pace for a wide range of duties, operates a variety of automotive and materials handling equipment while loading, unloading, and delivering equipment and supplies to specified destinations.
- →Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.
- →Operate all classes and types of motor vehicles including passenger cars, trucks of all sizes and capacities, and tractor trailers.
- →Advise crane operator of clearances between the load and other objects and of possible hazardous conditions observed from the ground level by using a variety of hand signals peculiar to the trade.
